Commercial ownership does not remove tree protection requirements. Before pruning or removing a tree, check its status with the local planning authority. Trees covered by a Tree Preservation Order usually require consent for the proposed work. Conservation area procedures are different. Development conditions or other controls may also apply, so the relevant requirements should be established before a start date is agreed.
